Counselors-In-Training (16)

The CIT program is for 16-year-olds who are looking to gain the skills to become a staff member some day. You don’t have to be a former camper at Copper Cannon to apply for this program. This program is a transitional time from camper to staff and requires a positive mental attitude and the desire to learn.

The CIT program lasts for three weeks so you can gain experience. During the first week, CITs will shadow counselors, learn leadership skills, and  have a positive impact on catsour youth.

During the next two weeks, you’ll be assigned to a specific cabin to work with a counselor and their group of 5-7 campers. This will be your opportunity to learn the ins and outs of everything camp counselor-related. This includes activities go from waking up the campers all the way through getting them to to bed at night. The hands-on learning experience is a great way to see what it takes to become a counselor and to see if it is the right choice for you.
