> Counselors-In-Training (CIT) leadership program for Campers Age 16

Counselors-In-Training (16)

The CIT program is for 16-year-olds who are looking to gain the skills to become a staff member some day. You don’t have to be a former camper at Copper Cannon to apply for this program. This program is a transitional time from camper to staff and requires a positive mental attitude and the desire to learn.

The CIT program lasts for three weeks so our youth can gain experience. During the first week, CITs will shadow counselors, learn leadership skills, and  have a positive impact on our youth.

In the second and third weeks of training, CITs will be assigned to a specific cabin to work with a counselor and 5-7 campers. This will be their opportunity to learn the ins and outs of everything camp counselor-related. This includes activities that go from waking up the campers all the way through getting them to to bed at night. The hands-on learning experience is a great way to see what it takes to become a counselor and to see if it is the right choice for you.
